Julie's House

Julie’s House is a cozy pastry house overlooking the Leie river in the middle of Ghent’s historic center.

We serve a daily choice of delicious brunches, artisanal pies and colorful homemade cupcakes.

Our “cake-ladies” love hosting you in our beautiful pastry house surrounded by the grandeur of the Gravensteen castle, the authenticity of the Patershol and the relaxed atmosphere by the water.

In addition to our little restaurant we also deliver to small and big locations, both to private individuals and professionals.

What preceeded…

On my sixth birthday I impatiently looked forward to my dad’s handcrafted birthday gift. My curiosity was more than rewarded by a true-to-life dollhouse. Above the door graceful letters boasted: Julie’s House. It was the beginning of a childhood dream.

At a young age I was already drawn to sweets and desserts.

At a later age I further developed my love of cooking at the culinary schools of Spermalie and Ter Groene Poorte in Bruges. After my studies I immediately started work as the manager of a business specializing in pies and quiches. Backed by more than two years of experience I was ready to fulfill my childhood dream: my own pastry shop, Julie’s House.
